The little red collar thingy that holds the hose from the oil trap into the top of the turbo cobra pipe is my problem. For a long time I went without it and just had the hose loop in there.
Recently bought the red collar (#XXXXX) to get it worked out and I fitted it during the turbo job I had. The red collar came with the locking o-ring so all was great! Done, I thought.
But because I had to remove the cobra again later, I tried to remove the collar/o-ring/tube.
I could not get the thing out because of the O-ring locks it so well into position in the cobra.
Eventually I broke the collar and damaged/kinked the hose itself and had replace the whole lot - the collar and the hose to oil trap.
I know.... stupid huh? PITA!
Anyway, what it looks like you do is put the o-ring around the collar fitting, and put the hose into the red collar and then just gently push it all into the hole in the cobra pipe. It looks obvious. But it then holds so well that you cannot remove it without - in my case - breaking the tube and the collar?
Before I fit the new one I got I'd like to know. Do I just put vaseline on it or such? Would that not defeat the purpose? Has anyone struck this? Feeling kinda stupid here.
