First: $6.95 for changing a computer setting is nothing
unusuall, remember that they need a trained mech. to do this
and that any smart computer freak will charge over $100 per hour
of work. Honestly it is not worth to argue about $7.- time doing
so is worth more then the money.
$33.99 to add 2 keys. ( I guess the keys are not included in this
price, only their adaptation to the car ) Well the procedure to
add a key takes quite a bit of time so here you go... mech with TECH2
will have to charge for this.
Right Headlight: If there is FOG in that headlight... Pull out DRL fuse
in fusebox, drive around without DRLs and go to dealer with FOG in light...
wash car if need be to get FOG. AND HAVE SAAB FIX IT for FREE if your
car is still under warranty.
Yes the SID gets hot... nothing we can do... nothing SAAB can do...
The CDs also get too hot in my opinion.
SID MPG figures... now this is a nice one... first of all do you drive
your car on short trips in cold weather or do you reset your SID on a
regular basis... You should reset it once in a while to get an updated
figure... If you drive in a cold place and mostly short trips, the
FUEL burn will go WAY up... so that SID might be telling you something
that is quite close to the thruth. However if you have measured yourself
the fuel burn, and you know that the SID if way off target something
needs to be done.
If in fact your FUEL burn is that high... what oil are you using, you should use a full synth. like 0w-30 or 0w-40 or 5w-40 in a cold place,
if you drive in a cold place with 10w-30 or 15w-XX your fuel burn will
be much higher. They should also check your spark plugs for deposits.
( Castrol, Mobil, Quaker State, etc many good Oils are around )
Last point... why are you complaining about a $50 service... in Europe
we don't have it included and it start at $200 upwards... So do like
I do, pay bill, take cold shower - forget about it, enjoy your SAAB
thinking about how much more expensive it would be to get hurt in a car crash.

Coolknight
