I have been test driving just about everything under the sun for the last 6 months. Volvo V40 was too small. V70 Too expensive. BMW ALSO. Mercedes, was ho hum. Subaru wasn't too bad. All the other Japanese were disappointing. Saab was our first choice and then the VW. We went back to the VW place in Jan but haven't been to the Saab house since August. The last one I drove was the Gary "whats his face" model. Perhaps it was the individual car that was poorly prepped. And I believe it was a 2000 model too. Was there a significant change in the 2001. I felt that after having spent the day at the dealership test driving cars, I was pretty familiar with the differences between the models. But understand this. I bought my 83 in 83, and have had it ever since. My wife loves the Saab and refuses to part with it as her work car. But she wants a new wagon and the Saab Wagon didn't impress me that much.
