I apologize if I sounded snippy about it being her choice. If she favors the Passat after all those miles in the '83 Saab, then I'm sure she knows what she's doing. The Passat seats were also comfortable. Apart from the "emotional" factor---I've owned nothing but Swedish cars for 30 years---the main deciding factor was the unavailability of a manual transmission in the model I wanted---it only came with Tiptronic. There was also some recommendation from my kids about the turbo, but I've forgotten what that was. . . I'm impressed with the 320K on your 900---I've never had a chance to get one that high. I sold both my '78 and my '77 to friends before moving here because I was unsure of the Saab technician situation. I do plan on keeping my 9-5 wagon for a very long time and a lot of miles----unless one of my sons talks me out of it!
