John - I run this stretch of I-25 all the time. You would not be amazed if you saw it. There are a few "favorite" spots where the local constabulary hide out, but after you get past Pueblo CO, it 's pretty much WFO (Wide friggin Open) to Santa Fe. Santa Fe down to ABQ is just as fast if not faster, yet they patrol it heavily. I've seen NM troopers doing 85-90 mph on their way to lunch. No radar on, just cruisin'. All that being said, I did get a ticket for 88 mph recently where I was "profiled" out of a freight train of 10 cars all doing almost 90. Trooper saw my silver Saab wagon, front Colorado license plates (NM has no front plates), said to himself..... 1) ability to pay the fine, check. 2) Out of state - no time spent in court, check. You sir, pull over. Ahh but I'm rambling....
