Coolknight I know you like Dunlops and Michael Smith likes Firestones and according to tirerack the Bridgestones and Firestones are the best. But frankly, I'm concerned about American and Japanese tires. I know you don't like Michelins but it makes sense to me that tires which are used on the Autobaun and proven there are probably safer overall. Since this post I have learned that Cooper is now under investigation for making some very faulty tires as well as Firestone/Bridgestone. I suppose that it is unfortunate but I'm not sure I want to be driving on American manufactured tires no matter how good the tires are engineered. Most defects come in the manufacturing process not the design process. I doubt seriously that your average Joe in a US tire plant gives a ---- whether he makes a safe tire or not. I bet in Europe they care more.
