While the 9000 was a good car,
many had their share of problems
with it, others had no trouble at all.
Most will agree that since mid 1999
the 9-5 has become a very reliable car
and I beleive that it's better then
one would expect.
The new 9-5 has one big advatage over
the old 9000, it has lots of added safety
features and it's a very safe car in case
of a crash.
Then again, it's not inexpensive to get one.
I would add here that the new 9-5 is very tough
and that the most likely problem one would have
is to bend a rim or to dislike the OEM Tires.
In any case, it's you money and only you know
what your budget allows for. In any case like
for any SAAB it's best to keep em 5 to 6 years
at least, unless you live in one of the few
markets were SAABs have a good resale value.
As for me, I bought a 9-5 Aero and I am not looking
back as the car is great to drive and also very easy
to drive thanks to a nice power steering and chasis.
Did you test drive one?
The new 2.3L LPT has 185Hp, more then enough to get
around at nice speeds, and as a Wagon it's a great
car.
