Anyone transfered a Saab lease? Posted by Paul [Email] (#792) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Paul) on Sat, 18 Nov 2000 11:06:50 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a lease on a 2000 9-3 that I would like to transfer to someone from out of state. Saab Financial Services told me that once I and the new owner sign the transfer paperwork at a local dealership, I am no longer responsible for the lease and the new owner is. BUT, they also told me that once the paperwork is signed, it is sent to Saab Financial and they then send the new owner a power of attorney to register the car. This paperwork takes 3-5 days to turn around.
My question (which Saab Financial wasn't sure about)is: how can the new owner get plates for the car to be able to drive it home and drive it while waiting for the power of attorney paperwork to arrive from Saab Financial? From the way Saab financial described the process, it sounds as though the car is in a registration limbo for a few days, which doesn't make any sense to me. Anyone done this?
