My 2001 9.5 has ~130k on it and until today has basically been trouble free and fun to drive. From what my mechanic tells me the lower timing cover had worked loose and fractured a C-Clip that caused the oil pump to lose it prime (hence every alarm in the car basically came on). I immediately pulled over and shut the car down. I had it towed to his shop and he indicated that this type of repair is unfortunately not cheap. It may be as high as $1,800...... to install a new cover plus I am assuming the oil pump is toast too. What do I do??? My mechanic has always been very fair and I trust his judgment.
I wish I knew we should be checking the torque on those bolts. Bummer, I wanted to give the car to my daughter this summer to learn to drive.... Should I just get another 9.5 or repair this one? My 1991 9000 went well over 200k Ooo well.
