I HAVE TO ADMIT, RUNNING BOARDS OR NOT, THIS MAY BE THE QUIETEST SAAB I'VE EVER OWNED. ON THE ROUGH LOCAL ROADS IT'S REALLY QUIET & I CAN USE MY CEL HEADSET OR LISTEN TO THE RADIO WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM. I CAN EVEN HEAR THE KIDS WHISPERING IN THE BACK SEAT OR HEAR THE MUSIC COMING FROM THEIR REAR-SEAT HEADPHONES. IT MAY EVEN BE QUIETER THAN MY WIFE'S 9-5 ARC WAGON. I HAVE YET TO POUND IT ON THE HIGHWAY TO CHECK FOR HIGHWAY ROAD NOISE BUT IT STAYED FLAT & QUIET ON SOME ROUGH HIGH SPEED TEST CURVES (SANS KIDS!!). THE 9-7'S GAS MILEAGE BEING WHAT IT IS, I'D LIKE TO SQUEEZE EVERY DROP OUT OF IT.
