Hard to believe that there were _any_ driven ~20 year old SPGs with so few miles - wow.
As for the value, I'm sure that you know of some good body shop guys who actually are race car fabricators or restorers. How much do you think it would take for them to swap across another front end - restored to factory standards? Two weeks, maybe three, plus materials? That's $8k+ in labor, plus another $4k+ in stuff.
And why not? It's a $30k car, after all!
As for the damage, did the engine get back into the firewall, or the axles pull out of the transmission? If not, wouldn't the drivetrain be salvageable - making Lemonade from lemons, so to speak?
