There is only 1 weight (at least that's how it use to be) of MTL
MT-90 is a thicker version of MTL which works better in hot climates or when a car is taken to a track. If the car is at a track (like that lemons race) MTL is way to thin & will usually result in a blown up trans. My guess is the honda stuff would have a similar result since if I recall it's a dyno based oil vs synthetic for redline MTL. MTL is to thin in really hot climates, in modded cars and/or when driven on a track where oil temps get well above where this fluid works. MT-90 will buy you more time but even then the temps get to hot.
Redline shockproof is their best oil by far..... protects gears better and can also take the heat better.
I also tried Mobil 1 as well as other motor & trans oils & my best luck was MTL in the winter, MT-90 in the summer, I couldn't get trans to last a year when I used motor oil. More rescently shockproof is what I used which included several days at a roadcoarse with a +300HP/tq SPG with a trans oil cooler. Oil temps would still go to 240+ degrees with the oil cooler turning on after 1 lap around the 1.8mi roadcoarse.
Honda's fluid came out years after many of us who had tweekend C900's used and swore by MTL from Redline. I never tried it..... so I have no 1st hand experience with their fluid
trannies are expensive.... oil is cheap...... get shockproof & throw a oil cooler on the car otherwise be ready to replace the trans :(
