Gigantor,
the components are interchangeable between NA and turbo cars if both share the same LH Jetronic version, but not all of them are interchangeable among different LH Jetronic generations: e.g. TPS sensor from LH 2.2 will not work on LH 2.4 and vice verse. I'm not much familiar with LH Jetronic - I'm from Mordor and Valkyrie's used to run on Lucas CU14 EFI - so you might want searching this BB for differences between LH 2.2 vs 2.4 vs 2.4.2

As for DIY diagnostic tool - well, it isn't that complex at all when it comes to hardware (google for KL-line adapter), but you'll be stuck at software to talk to your ECU. So frankly speaking, you're limited to original ISAT and Tech2 tools (CEL flashlight technique doesn't work in this case since you're looking for a real-time values of TPS, CTS sensors seen by the ECU and this can't be done that way).
