I have always thought that 10w30 was too thin for Texas, however the best SAAB shop here in Dallas (now closed due to retirement) insisted that I use 10w30. I have always used 10w40 in both my 240 Volvos though. I still can't believe the pressure would be so low even with the 10w30 though?? I want to get my manual gauge hooked up first and see what pressure I get at idle when the engine is good and hot. I will then go with another brand and a thicker oil. I have not been real thrilled with Mobil one as I have had to have the Turbo rebuilt 3 times now since the car was new. I change the oil very frequently and ALWAYA let the car idle for a few minutes before shutting her down. What SHOULD my pressure be at idle? The Bently book says something like 30 psi at 2000 but gives no information about what the pressure should be at 750 rpm's at idle....
