Recently purchased 1988 900s. Body and interior in great shape. Car handled well with no rattles. However manual trans crapped out after 400 miles. Have been informed of engine leaks.
If decide to keep the car, does it make any sense to just drop in best engine and transmission one can find in one swoop, instead of attempting series of piecemeal repairs?
Saw manual transmission in used OEM quality with 5 year warranty for $1189 at CarMonkey.com. They also had an engine for that year with same warranty for $989.
What do you all think? Thank you.
