bad clutch slave travel after reverse bleed

Here's an 11 sec video I just put up on YouTube. This is the extend of travel with a seriously leaky clutch slave cylinder, 1988 SAAB 900, NA non turbo, immediately after reverse bleeding with syringe using the CMyles method. Clutch pedal resistance now begins only 15mm from top, but all pressure will disappear in 24 hrs and pedal will go to floor with no slave movement.
In lieu of the official special spacer tool, I can't fit in 1/4 OD copper tubing, also according to CMyles method. Does this look like full release travel distance? What are alternate ways of keeping the clutch released for disassembly?
Same problem just appeared on my other c900, a '91 NA! Is it really worth the hassle keeping these beauties on the road but Something's Almost Always Broken
