because I don't think the terms here are fully defined. I believe you have a sticking universal joint in the steering column, right above the steering rack. There is a section in the Steering Shaft about 1' long, with two (2) universal joints - one at top of the section, one at the bottom of that section. I agree with Bernie - The lower U-Joint binds up and starts to hang up. I've fixed three of those - Two by freeing up the joints and lubricating with White Lithium Grease & heat; The other was fixed by replacing the 1' long section including the 2 U-Joints. In all three cases I removed that section prior to the repair. It's not a terribly difficult repair. Vern
