Well, that would be game over for this car. It's not a good enough example that it would be worth that amount of bother. In my humble opinion, I'd have a lot worse problem from a cracked head than I'm seeing. The early observations are good: There's no oil in the water, the cooling system is holding its level, and the oil isn't rising. The amount of sludge found during the oil change was one or two ounces, and around half of that was oil. I think the sludge could have something to do with the fact my last oil change was 14 months and 7300 miles ago. Or at least that's the last filter box flap I can find in my glove box. I'm usually pretty good about doing a couple changes a year, so I don't know what happened. The oil was pretty gross, so I'm guessing it's not that I lost a box flap.
