Been involved in a couple long distance sales and helping others find a decent c900 Saab. Most sellers on Saab.net are legit and represent their cars reasonably and responsibly well. That said, once someone decides to part with their Saab, the hassle of a PPI means delay, expense and possibly either an unknown costly condition arising or a dispute. Neither are desirable to a seller who just wants to get it over. A local cash and carry sale is almost always gonna carry the day vs an involved negotiation and time-consuming PPI and more negotiating. If the car has been maintained by a local shop, get their info and ask them directly about it. Or, get a local enthusiast like the many on here to have a look for you. They will almost always tell you straight up as to condition. If you are truly serious, make a quick decision, Paypal a deposit to hold it and hop on a plane and see it in person without delay and deal with whatever arises. The cars are generally not overly expensive and fixable. They are also not yet Monterey level collectables requiring outrageous detail of history, etc. My 2ยข...
