NGK7 vs NGK6 on LPT 2.1 conversion Posted by Landjet [Email] (#16) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Landjet) on Wed, 15 Feb 2017 18:52:38 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Waking up the NA to LPT conversion and the plugs have been getting wet. Pulled the out and saw I had put in the hotter 6 plug instead of a turbo 7 heat range.
Since I'm running a 2.1 high compression LPT, I think the colder plug is OK --- wondering if Justin or someone that has done this can verify the best performing plug.
I did put injectors in from a 1988 turbo, so they deliver more fuel, left the FPR in with the 3.0 bar. Maybe that is just too much fuel for ideal idle operation.
ALSO, the starter will operate normally about 50% of the time. Sometimes runs slow, sometimes turns normally. New battery and starter. Well, the starter isn't new, it was a rebuilt by a local, I'm wondering if they didn't fully go through it and it has a weak spot or something.
I thought maybe the ignition electrical portion of the switch might not be fully connecting inside, it's a strange situation. All the other connections seem to be OK, but I suppose checking the frame ground would be appropriate and the ground jumper to the gearbox?
To make it interesting, this is a auto to 5 speed conversion as well.....so there is alot going on with the rehab, it's been a long process, the list of new parts and newly remanufactured parts is staggering.
