The panel is aluminum and without gauges is very flexible. So when I tried to snap it into place it folded in the center. So I need to install the gauges to hopefully give additional rigidity. Also not too much a fan of the angled surfaces projecting out from the DIN slot. Either live with exposed gap or get/fabricate a flat panel.
I've decided on VDO Vision Black voltmeter and oil pressure gauges. Not sure I need a redundant water temp gauge in the third hole. A clock or outside temp gauge seems a waste of money. Might stick with two gauges and keep room for a subwoofer switch.
I'll update when more progress is made.
