Another weird thing you could do is get one of these:

and then one of these:

and make a quick-disconnect patch. Dorman actually sells fuel line with the female side already on it, so you just need to attach the other side to the fuel rail.
I was going to retrofit this type of an assembly by the fuel filter to get rid of those stupid banjo bolts under the car but lazed out. :) These fittings are standard on pretty much every car in production these days, about as safe as it gets.
