Awesome tips. Looks like from 2 posts you have all the answers!
Personally, I've gone over the top, using four 45mm harley carbs on a MSS manifold, blown like a Broadspeed setup enclosure, going for 15 honest pounds of boost at 6K rpm on a 8valve engine we got a land speed record at Bonneville with, so my memory of what Stage I was is pretty faint indeed...thanks for the reminder. We can't use modern fuel injection as we're in the classic category, so anything computer is kind of off limits.
Those blue injectors from Ford applications are about right by not doing EPROM. They might help keep the pistons from melting, depends on other things as well.
Notnoel has some suggestions about the distributor retard capsule mod that can help wake it up. Adding fuel will allow you to add timing, so the better you can manage fuel, the more timing you can drill into the cycle.
