Is it possible too........( right front axle removal ) 1989 Posted by Landjet [Email] (#16) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Landjet) on Sun, 7 May 2017 13:36:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
get the right front axle out without taking the brake caliper off the spindle....I don't think in all of the removals I've done, I didn't take off the caliper......
Now that I think of it, the rotor needs to come off doesn't it? I'm a bit rusty from not having done one in awhile, and just need to do a really rapid right front axle out with the bad, then back in with the good that will turn bad. Aftermarket junk is junk, but this is winter beater that needs a new outer rubber boot, the only thing I have left is a SA8008 that might last 4 years / 18K like the last one.
As I recall now, with the brake and spindle the mass is great enough that this old man might have a wrastlin' match with the bonus weight, and I'll just give the money I save to the chiropractor. Isn't it interesting as we grow older, our cost savings is based on what it costs a health practitioner to restore the biomechanics........
I'll be doing this out on the driveway, as I have two cars stuck in the shop, another one with a bad cylinder ( The ToyYoder V5.125 ) one in a parking garage that needs a new top, headgasket going out on the perfect red Tally SPG vert, and the racecar has a bad gearbox. OK....so back to work.
