using brake assembly lube, silicone lube, or Parker lube. Proparts made some green O-rings which turned mushy after use. Unfortunately I got some of these before they were removed from the market. O-rings should be OEM or EPDM rubber to be compatible with brake fluid. Also need to seal threads on three Allen cap screws that hold slave to tranny housing. I use Hylomar(R) sold as Permatex 85420 for this.

For holding the slave spring compressed during clutch installation, I use the pictured 2-piece compressor made from 22 gauge sheet metal.
