Check that the vacuum lines and wiring to the pump in the left front fender (near the APC box) is properly connected and intact from any leakage. Other items include improperly adjusted cut-out switches in the brake and clutch pedal assembly and the ECU brain which is located behind the driver's side knee bolster. The ECU's are often intermittent or thermally sensitive due to cracking solder joints in the circuit board. The fact the light is coming on is promising for the ECU.
