Yo, Simon! (ref '91 c900 NA) I wanted to throw myself at your feet, but at minimum to thank you effsuively for posting that nice sketch you put up in Aug 2010 to help some guy figure out how to rebuild the wiper drive assembly, particularly the wire cabling for the cam that runs the DS wiper arm/blade. Mine fell apart two days ago, but I am going overseas for a month in three days and I couldn't leave it unfixed for my wife. It was a truly unpleasant job and I cut my forearms to ribbons, and while Bentley says everything comes out nicely, including the motor assembly, all as a complete unit... fergeddaboudit! I was just about defeated by this job and figured I needed to get the car to a pro, but by that time the wiper drive unit lower frame was jammmed on the wrong side of the aircon compressor belt. Rarely do I pray, but I was considering it. Finally I got the drive unit up in place (original problem was that the cam had separated from the splined shaft to the blade arm and fallen down into the engine compartent and without your lovely sketch I would have had no idea how to reassemble the linkage). But I gave it one more shot, ewverywthing went together and now it's all wqorking like it's s'pozed to. Hoo-ray. Only took five hours, plenty of blood and close to tears, but no sweat. (Cool afternon here in the Frozen Prairie.) Of yeah, I have also soon to deal with finding a major leak in the PS pump plumbing and/or replacing the steering rack in my '88 c900S NA.
