While I understand this may not be a local option, I believe it would be in your best interest to a find a Saab specialist, as these cars have a reputation for being "quirky" and are best handled by someone familiar with their idiosyncrasies.
If your upper bushings are shot then it is likely that the rest of the suspension bushings are in similar condition. As Simon points out, the "easiest" way to do the driver's side bushings is to pull the engine. This grants access to the entire engine bay and the opportunity to get at a number of things much more easily.
If you get a quote for the upper bushing replacement ask how much more for a complete front end bushing replacement. It will likely be a bit more than you want to spend, but if you like driving your car now, you will love the crisp response of a newly refurbished suspension.
Good Luck
