S Carlson - Interesting info, thanks for posting.
Garrett3 - "good" ball joints have their faults too. Just yesterday I had four new "Genuine Saab" ball joints opened up so they could be properly greased prior to installation. Factory grease seems to be an afterthought. There was just a smidge at the base of the tapered portion (not even on the ball).
Ditto for tie rod ends.
