Well, I'll throw my common sense into the ring ( hmmmm.....I have common sense ??? ) ..... OK, so install water injection to negate the potential for detonation, and be done with it.
As long as you aren't detonating, then for performance, you want as much advance as you can muster. We're only talking enough retarded timing here to keep the engine from transferring aluminum from the piston to the tip of the spark plug, so eliminating the retard is probably not a wise choice.
The point of this is to smooth out the dump of timing, so it doesn't come all out at once with the modded capsule. You could also put a Dawes device on it, checking the pressure from the boost at say 8 psi. So, anything under 8psi, the capsule wouldn't retard. Just a thought.
