Re: Wheel Bearing Popping - Questions - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I was not able to find new spindles available anywhere and had to go the used route. I bought the whole knuckle/spindle/bearing assembly. Much easier than dealing with the bearing replacement.
My spindle failed on the inward end. When the bearing race spun, it wore down the lip on the end of the spindle. No way to get a snug fit if just replacing the bearing and would have just failed again in short order. I had the telltale clunking on turns as well.
