The e-code headlights are clean glass on the headlight no ridges. Non e code are your run of the mill ridged glass. In other words you can see the bulb on a e code headlight. It's why the sale of them in the u.s was illegal in the 80s & 90s. One could buy them over seas and install them mainly from Europe. It's the e in e-code, Now days every car on the road is e-code
