Hello,
Thank you for posting at TSN!
The OEM B202 engine employs a cast aluminum piston which are fit into the SAAB cylinder bore with some clearance which allows for thermal expansion when subject to heat created by engine combustion.
The compression should be checked on all 4 cylinder bores and provide similar results at all four locations.
The OEM SAAB/MAHLE cast aluminum pistons also employ an elongated skirt, at critical locations, which greatly reduces the chances for piston slap, especially under normal engine running temperatures.
The SAAB APC systems were designed as protection against engine detonation and should not be subject to charging pressure fluctuation when the under a normal piston movements.
We will look forward to hearing relative to how this project proceeds and thanks again for this posting!
Sincerely,
GSK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS, INC.
