Re: -1989 vs. 1990-1993 fuel tank straps - Saabnet.com Bulletin Board
I am virtually positive there were changes in straps. One, Saab didn't change part numbers for fun, at least not without a suoercession trail, and two I have swapped tanks several times and it was easy to tell the difference between outgoing and incoming straps. On our Lemons car in particular, we tried every which way to put an '86 tank on a '90 car and adapt the existing straps, but there was no way to take up the slack. We ended up having to junkyard a pair so it would stay put. Once it dries up here I can try and compare the '85 straps no longer on the car to the '90 straps that are if you'd like to see the other way.
