Put a plastic bag around the filter and screw it off into the bag, the oil will go in the bag if there are no holes in the bottom.....
fill up the new filter up half way with some NEW engine oil, and a film of oil on the gasket seal, get it in contact, then one half turn to tigthen -- if anyone else here has a better tighten scenario, I'm all ears.
Start the car, get a good light and look for leaks on the adapter housing.
Use a Mann filter. Very Mannly they are. Mannly green box and Mannly yellow lettering.
