Is this the typical symptom of the main oil seal going bad? Or is it possible that it could come from the oil pump/filter housing not having a gasket? Or something else? I'm a little confused because if it was the main seal, I would expect to see oil on the engine side of the flex plate. I don't see that, but I'm hoping someone can guide me as maybe they have seen this before. How do I confirm it is coming from the main seal? I did notice there was no gasket where the oil pump/filter housing meets up to the engine block, but i would not expect oil to be all over the engine from that. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
