The video links weren't intended to be tutorials on how to diagnose the issue, they were intended to familiarize you with the way the parts of the convertible top hydraulic system and how it works.
Anyway, it looks like you're going to have to remove enough pieces of the interior (seat bottom, seat back, at least one side panel) to see what's happening when the top binds as you try to move it with the hydraulics.
The link below sends you to the SAABnet page with PDFs of factory service manuals for classic 900s. The manual for the convertible is "8:5 - Convertible" There are a couple of other items associated with convertibles under that link.
I figured out how mine works by reading the manual and then replacing the whole top assembly with a friend.
