Vern, Bentley 368-4 describes the changes needed to convert to the later 'TIP' turn switch. It says to splice two of the wires that go to the cruise relay and delete the relay. I just use a jumper. The wires that are jumped are the 2 larger gauge wires. The 86 doesn't have the cruise light. If you're having rapid acceleration with the cruise on it indicates you have the later 'TIP' turn switch and need to delete the relay and jump the relay plug. Check the connection of the turn switch to the body harness . The early non"TIP' system uses a flat white plug. The later 'TIP' turn switch has a rectangular black plug. The 4 wires are the same color and need to match whichever plug is used. Good times!
