I'm not sure... obviously Saab used EZK on the non-turbos, but since EZK handles advance, Dell, and knock (plus later on load) EZK was stepping on APC's feet so turbos did not get EZK. As Volvos don't have any equivalent of APC, it makes sense they would rely on EZK's anti-knock features. Eventually Jetronic and EZK got folded into Motronic, but I'm not sure what that timeline was, or how each individual brand incorporated it. Like, I never understood why Volvo used LH and EZK when Motronic already existed... maybe cost or engineering lead times? Who knows? :)
