If you find it failing again, I have had success replacing the capacitors.
My '90 900 had intermittently functional central locking even after the re-solder. Central lock module part number 9529975 contains two capacitors: a small ceramic capacitor that was only marked "n15" which according to the internet means it's a 150 picofarad unit, and a bigger electrolytic capacitor clearly marked 100uf 35v. I replaced the 150pf with a 120 and the 100uF with another 100uF rated for a higher voltage and the thing has worked for the whole summer now.
The clutch hose failed right after, but y'know, you can't have a completely functional 900 for too long...
