I assume you applied a vacuum on the hose coming out of the under hood vac unit and it held. Good way to double check the vacuum switches are adjusted correctly and hoses are all secure. You can also check the connector at the ECU to confirm the correct signal is being received at the correct pin. That way you can eliminate the stalk switch and speed sensor as culprits. However the troublesome late C900 model ECUs often cause these malfunctions. I did the Betty Crocker treatment on my 92 unit and it worked... for a week.
So I gave up and bought the older 905 ECU and connector. Next up is reconnecting the 92 wiring to the older pins. i’ll Let you know how it goes. (Just not anxious to remove the bolster again...)
