I had a loose connection to the cabin fan motor that couldn't be seen, but once your hand houdini'd down into the area through the speaker grill, I could feel the connection was challenged by the connector. Crimped it and then pushed on with more pressure, and eureka, no more fan motor fuses blowing. I think I must have had two dozen fuses pop because of the loose connection.
So, the moral of that story is that the schematic is not part of the solution, but tracing the wires to each junction to see if there is something loose might be worthwhile. Just to think the ground helped to improve the situation tells me there might be another connection not making good contact, causing the extra draw of amps.
