Eeuro refuses to correct this doubtless deliberate oversight. The slave they sell as "OE" is actually Proparts. They talk out of both sides of their mouths about this. I ordered one and was madder than a hatter when I received a Proparts branded thing with a hastily-printed OEM part number sticker stuck over the Proparts sticker. Typical Proparts attention to detail. They weren't even going to allow me to return it because they said it's listed on their site. It is, in fine print under "fitment info". Who among us experienced 900 mechs looks at fitment info?
The reason people don't trust the Proparts, from what I've heard from those who've tried it, is that it has (or had) the green rubber o-rings, which are not resistant to brake fluid and fail quickly. The black o-rings are the ones you want.
I've done some research into refurbishing slave cylinders the right way. The slave repair kits the usual places sell are actual OE with the proper Saab font on the sticker and part number and all that. They are black rubber. My friends and I have used them and they seem to hold up.
The cylinder bore and inner spigot of the cylinder are anodized for hardness and corrosion resistance. I once tried to refurb a pitted one by turning on a lathe and quickly found this out. If you have pitting on these surfaces, you cannot fix it unless you can scour it out and re-anodize, but then the bore tolerance will be larger. Stay within a few thou and you'd probably be fine though. As far as I can tell, all the aftermarket new ones I have ever seen are also anodized, but some report poor tolerances on the fit between bore and piston.
