I'm happy with the Catco 4777. It sounds close to the original exhaust. There are other brands that come with an added heat shield of their own.
Please do not neglect the heat shield. Things can get really ugly top-side with that heat.
I patched the developing hole in the heat shield with foil tape and several coats of ceramic paint. Two years now and it's holding up, but only about 5K miles.
Both of these solutions are hold-overs until I patch in proper sheet metal and replace the original cat on my 1993. Went with the aftermarket for now as research for the impending future need.
