Yes, per Saab and that Jaguar documentation, the technique is to let the ABS accumulator charge, then pump the brake pedal. The number of times you pump before the pump runs again gives you a sense of health of the accumulator. Something like 7-8 full applications before the pump runs is normal. Less than that (down to none) indicates degraded health. I suppose you could unplug the pump and wait for the warning lights to light, but the pump is loud enough you should have no issue hearing it run. Assuming the combination switch is working properly, it will manage its charging pressures internally, so there is no real need to know what they are.
