Welcome to our little problems!
The article Noel posted starts out with a key point, "C900 power windows are not that fast to begin with".
Over the years we've always (read mostly) looked at the window mechanics first. The seemingly mediocre performance is a design of the time -- late 80's/90's -- which includes crossover into other European manufacturer brands. This was a customer-feedback issue with BMW at the time, and the technology improved all around. I read an article about this once.
But I digress. Snail-paced movement needs to be addressed, or it will get worse fast. Just don't expect a C900 electric window to be especially fast or sound like it isn't struggling sometimes -- it's a personality thing. In 2019 everything is older, so we must address the WHOLE system.
There are no pistons. It's old waxy (good word) and dried gears and pivots. And of course switch contacts are corroded -- more so in wetter locales.
