My experience with dead batteries resulted from leaving the c900 sit for 1-2 weeks without starting which required the battery charger. since I wasn't driving the car, I disconnected the negative terminal and the batter was fine for 6-8 weeks. The issue with constant discharges might have to do with degradation of the plates, but I've not experienced it. Usually I recommend replaced of 36, 48. or 60 month batteries close to the anniversary date as they seem to fail at 36, 48, or 60 months. More so if it's winter or your car is parked on a dark lonely road.
