We fought through a season of racing with a loose neg cable that "appeared" and felt like it was solid, and the nut had not collapsed on the washer. So, the cable that was virtually inaccessible to wiggle was just loose enough to work but not tight enough to make all the systems full strength like three freaking fuel pumps to run the CIS Porsche 930 injection system. Amazing how important that the loop is fully closed to make it work well. Grounds are King.
Just as a preventative measure, you should take the injection harness that attaches to the two head bolts -- cut the connectors off, solder the tips of all the wires, and crimp them with NEW connectors. Betcha that at least one of them is hanging by a couple copper strands. Especially since the car was laid up for awhile -- critters have a taste for that electrical shock they get when chewing on the wiring.......their way of getting a buzz......
