T5 comes in two basic flavors, 5.2 and 5.5. You do not want 5.2, you want 5.5. The version will be displayed as and AFM number on the front, easy to find. 5.2 was only available in the very early years and is pretty hard to find, so it shouldn't be a problem. '94-'99 cars are 5.5. 5.5 ECMs come in 16MHz and 20MHz. IIRC the 16MHz version is through '95.5 and the 20MHz versions are '95.5+. The earlier, slower versions were not suited to run OBDII diagnostics. People interchange code and it generally works, but you're best finding a '95.5+ box for maximum flexibility. There are lots of part numbers since these were used on 9000s and 900s and 9-3s with different engine configurations. The software can go anywhere, so the source car doesn't matter. Any '95.5+ AFM 5.5 T5 box is the goal.
T5.5 came in two frequencies: 16 Mhz and 20 Mhz.
