Virtually all modern crank (CKP) and cam (CPS) sensors are variable reluctance (VR) sensors. They generate a waveform that corresponds to the distance of a ferrous object. What separates one VR sensor from the next is its dimensions and little else. Electrically, they function the same.... You could use one from Saab, Volvo, Ford, or whatever.
